February 16, 2009

Bassist Matt Snell of the Los Angeles-based band FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH was interviewed last summer by Metal Matt of "Metallicity Radio Hour" at the last stop of the 2008 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival in Buffalo, New York. The chat has now been posted online and is available for streaming below.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH will be IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson's guests on Friday, March 6 during Bruce's weekly BBC 6 Music radio program, dubbed "The Bruce Dickinson Friday Rock Show". Listen to the broadcast live via the Internet between 9:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. (midnight) U.K. time at BBC.co.uk.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH last month confirmed the departure of guitarist Darrell Roberts, as first rumored at the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) convention in Anaheim, California. The band issued a statement saying, "Every band has its growing pains, and after 18 months in the trenches, relentless touring and living together, we all came to a conclusion that a change had to be made." The statement said that the decision for Roberts to leave was "mutual," adding, "It was a swift and smooth transition and we all remain good friends. All cliches aside we really wish him the best on his musical endeavors."

Roberts's replacement is Jason Hook, most recently seen playing with ALICE COOPER. Lead guitarist Zoltan Bathory said about the new guitarist, "He's an unbelievable player, and a good friend of all of us, so we hope our fans will welcome him in the DEATH PUNCH crew."

Hook joins FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCHat a busy time in the band's career, as it continues to tour behind its hit 2007 debut, "The Way Of The Fist". Bathory told The Pulse of Radio that it will be at least several months before the group gets its sophomore effort going. "There are so many tours already set up, I think I would say probably by next summer we could drop another record," he said. "We'll hit the road, probably take out a mobile Pro Tools rig with us so we can record on the bus, and then when we come back to the U.S., hopefully like by June, July maybe we can make another record."

"The Way Of The Fist" has sold more than a quarter of a million copies and produced three singles, including the new "Stranger Than Fiction".
